How to Unlock the Fast Travel Bell

Current guides place the unlock at the Smuggler’s Cache near your starting beach.

What to do:

Go to the Smuggler’s Cache close to spawn.
Break the cover over the hidden hole.
Go down the stairs.
Clear the Drowned inside.
Loot the chest.

That chest currently unlocks the Fast Travel Bell recipe.

Fast Travel Bell Recipe

Current Workbench recipe:

10 Copper Ingots
3 Rope

This is one of the first recipes that makes Copper feel scarce, so make sure your smelting loop is working first.

Fast Travel Point Recipe

The Bell itself is not enough. You also need to build a coastline structure with Build Mode.

Current build recipe:

20 Wood
1 Fast Travel Bell

Placement Rules

Current guides agree on one strict rule: the Fast Travel Point must be placed on the coastline.

If the game will not let you place it, check shoreline position first.

How Fast Travel Actually Works

You normally need:

two Fast Travel Points to move between two shore locations

There is also a second current method reported in guides:

with one Fast Travel Point, you can also fast travel using your Ketch from the map once ship travel is online

Best Time to Build It

Build your first bell as soon as:

copper production is stable
you have started moving between islands often

If you are still fully locked to starter-island tasks, it is useful but not urgent. Once inter-island movement becomes routine, the Bell pays for itself very fast.

Best Companion Upgrades

The Bell works best alongside:

the Windrose Oil Lamp guide for cave and night runs
the Windrose recall and repair Ketch guide once you are using ships heavily
