PSO2 NGS Augment and Affixing Guide 2026 — Best Capsules and Builds
Augments in PSO2 NGS are the difference between a player hitting for 300 and hitting for 800. Understanding which capsules to use and when to apply them is essential for endgame content. This guide covers the best augments for every build type in 2026.

Augment Basics
Augments are stat bonuses applied to weapons, units (armour), and in some cases, specific gear slots. Each piece of gear has a limited number of augment slots. Higher-rarity gear has more slots.
- Weapons — Up to 8 augment slots on endgame weapons
- Units (Arm/Body/Leg) — Up to 6 slots each
- Fixas — Special affixes that grant unique effects (separate from augments)
Augments are applied at the Item Lab in Central City using augment capsules and N-Meseta. The success rate depends on the capsule rarity and whether you use Augment Insurance items.
Augment Tiers Explained
| Tier | Examples | Typical Stat Boost | Use Case |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | Might III, Precision III | +2-3% per capsule | Levelling gear, alts |
| Mid | Alts Soul, Dread Keeper II | +3-4% | Pre-endgame, casual players |
| High | Gigas Maste, Halphinale | +4-5% | Endgame weapons |
| Premium | Gladia Soul, Stia Domina | +5%+ with special effects | Min-maxed BiS |
Best-in-Slot Augments for Melee (Might)
For Slayer, Hunter, Fighter, and Braver (Katana) users, prioritise Might and Potency Floor.
Endgame Weapon (8 slots):
- Gladia Soul — +3.5% Potency, +25 HP, +10 PP
- Gigas Maste — +3% Potency, +15 HP, +5 PP
- Halphinale — +3% Potency
- Stia Domina — +3% Potency, +10 HP
- Alts Soul III — +3% Potency
- Dread Keeper IV — +2.5% Potency, +20 HP, +10 PP
- Might IV — +3% Potency
- Deft Might — +2.5% Potency, +15 HP
Budget Weapon (6 slots):
- Might IV, 2. Alts Soul III, 3. Dread Keeper III, 4. Gigas Might II, 5. Deft Might, 6. Stamina III
Best-in-Slot Augments for Ranged (Precision)
For Ranger, Gunner, and Braver (Bow) users:
Endgame Weapon: Same structure as melee, replace Might capsules with Precision variants (Precision IV, Deft Precision, Gigas Precision).
Best-in-Slot Augments for Tech (Technique)
For Force, Techter, and Bouncer (Jet Boots) users:
Endgame Weapon: Replace Might with Technique capsules. Bouncer hybrid builds may want a mix of Might and Technique depending on weapon focus.
Unit Augments — Survival and Utility
Units (armour) should balance offence and defence:
- Gladia Soul (if affordable) or Alts Soul III
- Gigas Maste
- Dread Keeper IV
- Stamina IV or Grand Stamina
- Spirit IV or Grand Spirit (for PP-hungry classes)
- Guard IV (for Hunter) or Deft Might/Precision/Technique
Transferring Augments
Augment Transfer Passes let you move augments from one piece of gear to another. Save these for:
- Moving a full set of BiS augments to a new weapon series
- Preserving rare capsules like Gigas Maste or Gladia Soul
- Transferring Fixas to better base weapons
Never use a Transfer Pass on budget capsules. The Meseta cost of the pass exceeds the capsule value.
Augment Boost Events
SEGA runs periodic Augment Boost events that increase success rates. The best strategy:
- During boost: Apply your most expensive capsules (Gigas Maste, Gladia Soul). Use Augment Insurance for anything above 80% base success.
- Outside boost: Apply budget-to-mid capsules. Save premium capsules for the next boost event.
Summary
For most players, a 6-slot mid-tier setup (Alts Soul III, Dread Keeper III, Gigas Might/Precision II, Might/Precision IV, Deft, and Stamina III) is more than enough for all content. Reserve BiS augments for your absolute best weapon that you will keep through multiple content cycles.
