PSO2 NGS Region Unlock Guide — All Zones and How to Access Kvaris, Stia

New Genesis has five major regions, each gated behind Main Task progression and Battle Power requirements. This guide covers exactly how to unlock each zone and what to expect when you arrive.

Aelio — The Starting Region

Unlocked: Immediately upon character creation.

Aelio is your tutorial region and home to Central City, the main hub. Key locations:

• Central City — All NPCs, the Item Lab, Personal Shop, and Class Counter
• Mt. Magnus — First combat sector, level 1-10 enemies
• Vanford Ruins — Level 10-20 sector, great for early levelling
• Resol Forest — Level 20-30 sector, first real gear check

Goal: Reach level 20, unlock your subclass, and complete all Aelio Main Tasks. You need approximately 1,800 Battle Power to comfortably clear Aelio content.

Retem — The Desert Region

Unlock Requirements:

• Reach level 15
• Complete Aelio Main Task “The Path Forward”
• Speak to Crawford in Central City

Retem is a desert-themed region with underground ruins and sandstorms. The main hub is Retem City.

• Maqead Lower Level — Level 15-25, early Retem farming
• Dust Hill — Level 25-35, introduces stronger DOLLS enemies
• Lower Level of the Lower Level — Level 30-40, the deepest Retem zone

BP Requirement: 2,100+ for comfortable farming. Bring a multi-weapon setup as Retem enemies have varied elemental weaknesses.

Kvaris — The Frozen North

Unlock Requirements:

• Reach level 30
• Complete Retem Main Tasks through “The Frozen Frontier”
• Accept the Kvaris quest from Crawford

Kvaris is an ice-covered region with vertical terrain and extreme weather. The hub is Kvaris Camp.

• Belugana Ruins — Level 30-40 sector
• Lost Central — Level 40-50, introduces Gigantix enemies
• Rayjord Gorge — Level 50-60, endgame Kvaris content

BP Requirement: 2,800+ minimum. Kvaris enemies hit hard and have freeze effects. Bring ice-resistance units or focus on dodging.

Stia — The Volcanic Wasteland

Unlock Requirements:

• Reach level 50
• Complete Kvaris Main Tasks through “Into the Inferno”
• BP 3,200+

Stia is the current endgame region (as of 2026), featuring volcanic landscapes and the strongest open-world enemies.

• Dext Base — Level 50-60
• Mediola Outer Area 1 — Level 60-70, the best farming sector in the game
• Neusen Plant — Level 65-75, highest difficulty open-world content

Kvaris and Stia also feature Gigantix enemies — massive world bosses that require coordinated parties to defeat. These drop exclusive augments and cosmetics.

Leciel — The Exploration Zone

Leciel is a procedurally generated exploration zone added in a later update. It scales to your level and offers randomised rewards.

Unlock Requirements:

• Complete Stia Main Tasks up to “Beyond the Volcano”
• BP 3,000+

Leciel is excellent for solo farming and testing builds. It is not part of the critical path and can be skipped.
