FFXIV: Solution Nine Aether Current Locations (Dawntrail)

Navigating the futuristic city of Solution Nine and the storm-wracked lands of Heritage Found can be frustrating without a flying mount. The verticality introduced in Dawntrail’s later zones means you need to unlock flight as soon as possible to complete your daily hunts efficiently.

While Solution Nine acts as the city hub (no currents inside the safe zone), the surrounding hostile areas of Heritage Found contain the currents needed for flight in this region.

Here are the precise locations for the field Aether Currents.

Heritage Found Aether Currents

Check your Aether Compass frequently, as the purple lightning storms can obscure the green glow of the currents.

1. The Outskirts (Electro-peal Tower Base)

• Coordinates: X: 17.9, Y: 9.4, Z: 0.4
• Description: Just outside the main gate leading from Shaaloani. Look behind the large “Electro-peal” transmission tower closest to the road. It is tucked between the metal struts.

2. Yyasulani Station Cliffside

• Coordinates: X: 23.0, Y: 18.5, Z: 1.0
• Description: On a jagged cliff overlooking the purple lightning fields, located roughly halfway between Tesh’pyani Village and the Yyasulani Station aetheryte. You will need to circle around the rock formation to reach the ledge.

3. Archeo Alexandria Bridge Arch

• Coordinates: X: 15.7, Y: 16.1, Z: 0.7
• Description: This one is tricky. It rests directly in the center of the broken archway bridge connecting the ruined sectors of Archeo Alexandria. You must navigate the debris carefully to avoid falling into the electrified water below.

4. Submerged Skyline Rooftop

• Coordinates: X: 12.3, Y: 35.3, Z: 0.0
• Description: In the southern lake area, look for a sunken skyscraper peeking out of the water. The current is on the flat rooftop section. It is easily missable if you are flying low over the water surface.

5. Earthen Sky Cavern

• Coordinates: X: 25.5, Y: 7.8, Z: 0.7
• Description: Inside a small cavern tunnel at the northern edge of the map. The entrance is hidden behind a cluster of glowing blue crystals. The current is at the dead end of the tunnel.
