FFXIV Guardian Arkveld Rewards Guide
Once you unlock the Monster Hunter Wilds crossover, the next question is what Guardian Arkveld actually drops. The answer is simple: the core farm currency is Guardian Scale, and that material feeds the patch 7.35 reward path around the Veldian weapon line.
Guardian Arkveld Trial Basics
Guardian Arkveld is the boss of The Windward Wilds and is a level 100 patch 7.35 encounter.
The fight exists in:
- The Windward Wilds
- The Windward Wilds (Extreme)

Guardian Scale Drops
The important drop is Guardian Scale.
Current listed rewards are:
- Normal: 2 Guardian Scale
- Extreme: 4 Guardian Scale
You also need to interact with Arkveld’s corpse to collect the scales. They are not automatically placed in your inventory at clear time.
That makes Extreme the obvious efficiency play if your group can clear it consistently.
Why Players Farm Guardian Arkveld
The crossover reward loop matters because the current level 100 gearing path includes:
- Veldian Weapons at item level 745 from the coffer drop
- Augmented Veldian Weapons at item level 760
Those upgrades are purchased from the Smithy in Tuliyollal (X:13.3, Y:13.1) and require:
- the matching Veldian Weapon
- 5 Guardian Arkveld Certificate
Even if you are not min-maxing right now, that makes Guardian Arkveld worth keeping on your radar.
Normal or Extreme?
Use this rule:
- farm Normal if you are just unlocking or learning
- farm Extreme if you want the fastest material pace
Because the normal version only gives 2 scales and Extreme gives 4, most players who are comfortable with the fight will eventually move to Extreme for better returns.
Best Way to Use the Event
For most players, the cleanest loop looks like this:
- Unlock the crossover in Tuliyollal.
- Learn the normal fight once or twice.
- Move into Extreme when your group is stable.
- Spend your Arkveld materials on the weapon path you actually plan to use.
That keeps the crossover from turning into random inventory clutter.
Final Tip
The reward question is not really “Does Guardian Arkveld drop anything good?” It does. The better question is whether you are farming the right difficulty. If you only want quick clears, normal is fine. If you want to push the Veldian route efficiently, Extreme is where the real grind begins.
