Patch 7.5 has finally raised the Blue Mage level cap to 100, bringing with it a host of new spells from the Dawntrail expansion content. As always, Blue Mages are looking for the most broken, high-potency spells to crush the Masked Carnivale and specialized Logs.

Top New Spells (Ranked)
1. Valigarmanda’s Roar (Spell #128)
- Source: Valigarmanda (The Skydeep Cenote or Extreme Trial)
- Type: Magic Ranged DPS
- Effect: Deals massive Ice/Fire/Thunder damage in a full-screen AoE.
- Why it’s Best: This is the new “J Kick” but better. It serves as a primal ability with a longer cooldown but incredibly high potency (800 potency). It is essential for speed-clearing dungeon trash mobs.
2. Mountain Fire (Spell #131)
- Source: Bakool Ja Ja (The Brothers)
- Type: Fire Magic
- Effect: A channeled cone attack that deals continuous damage for up to 5 seconds.
- Why it’s Best: This is currently the highest single-target DPS spell for stationary bosses. If you can stand still and channel, Mountain Fire melts boss HP bars faster than Sonic Boom or Triple Trident combos.
3. Tural’s Blessing (Spell #135)
- Source: Wuk Lamat (Role Play Instance - Whalaqee Totem)
- Type: Support
- Effect: Increases party damage by 5% for 20 seconds. Does not stack with Mug or Chain Stratagem.
- Why it’s Best: Finally, Blue Mages have a dedicated raid buff! This makes BLU parties much more viable for current savage raids when running full Blue compositions.
Carnivale Stage 35: The Golden City
The new capstone Carnivale stage requires specific spells to beat.
- Phase 1: Requires Valigarmanda’s Roar to clear the adds before they enrage.
- Phase 2: The boss reflects magic. You MUST swap to Physical Blue Magic spells like Goblin Punch or the new Bestial Scratch (learned from mobs in Yak T’el).
