Patch 7.3 “Echoes of the Golden City” has introduced the latest Tribal Quest (formerly Beast Tribe) focused on the Pelupelu. Located in Urqopacha, these mercantile masters offer a questline tailored for Disciples of the Hand and Land (Crafters and Gatherers).

Here is your guide to unlocking the tribe, maximizing reputation, and getting that sweet Alpaca mount.

Unlocking the Pelupelu

Prerequisites:

  1. Complete the Main Scenario Quest: Dawntrail (7.0).
  2. Complete the side quest: Trade Winds of Urqopacha (Level 95).

Start NPC: Speak to Potehro in Tuliyollal (X:12.4, Y:14.5) to begin the quest “A Deal with the Devil”.

Daily Routine

You get 3 allowances per day. The quests scale to your level (90-100) and provide massive XP, making this the best way to level alt crafters.

Common Quests:

  • Rare Tea Delivery: Synthesis required. Use the provided materials. Macro Tip: Standard Level 90 2-button macros work here.
  • Alpaca Shearing: Interaction quest. Go to the specified node and “Soothe” the alpaca before shearing.
  • Coffee Bean Sorting: A minigame style quest. Pick the ripe (red) beans, discard the bad (black) ones.

Rank Rewards

Rank 3 (Friendly)

  • Currency: Pelupelu Coin.
  • Shop Unlock: Crafting Materia IX/X.

Rank 6 (Honored)

  • Emote: /haggle. Your character pulls out a calculator and looks intense.

Rank 8 (Bloodsworn)

  • Mount: Grand Alpaca. This variant has a full merchant saddlebag setup and a unique music track (a remix of the Urqopacha day theme).
  • Minion: Wind-up Potehro.
  • Title: “Master Merchant”.

Tips for Fast Reputation

  • Do not overcap allowances. If you miss a day, you can’t make it up.
  • Bonus Reputation: Occasionally, a “High Value” quest will appear offering 70 rep instead of 60. Always prioritize these.

The Pelupelu story is surprisingly heartwarming, focusing on rebuilding their trade routes after the events of the expansion. It’s a low-stress loop perfect for relaxing after raid nights.
