CS2 Spray Patterns 2026 — AK-47, M4A4, M4A1-S, Galil, FAMAS Recoil Control
Spray control is what separates good players from great ones. Knowing exactly where your bullets go lets you transfer sprays between enemies and win fights consistently.
If you’re looking for CS2 spray patterns 2026, AK-47 recoil control tutorial, or CS2 spray pattern workshop maps, you’re in the right place.
How Spray Patterns Work
In CS2, each weapon has a fixed recoil pattern. The pattern never changes — bullets always follow the same path. You counter this by moving your mouse opposite to the pattern.
The Two-Phase Spray
Phase 1 (Bullets 1-10): Vertical recoil. Pull straight down. Phase 2 (Bullets 11-30): Horizontal recoil. Track the side-to-side movement.
For most fights, you only need the first 10-15 bullets. Mastering the first 10 bullets is enough for 90% of engagements.
AK-47 Spray Pattern
The most important spray in CS2. One-tap headshot potential, devastating full-spray at close range.
Pattern:
- Bullets 1-6: Vertical climb, pull straight down
- Bullets 7-12: Curve slightly right
- Bullets 13-20: Move left
- Bullets 21-30: Back to center, then right again
Practice Drill:
- Stand at medium range (~15m) from a wall
- Don’t move your mouse — watch the bullet holes form the pattern
- Now counter it: pull down → slight right → left → right
- Repeat until you can keep all bullets in a tight circle
Pro Tip: The AK’s first bullet is perfectly accurate. Always aim for the head on your first shot. If you miss, commit to the spray.
M4A4 Spray Pattern
CT’s primary rifle. Faster fire rate than AK, more bullets (30 vs 25), slightly easier spray.
Pattern:
- Bullets 1-7: Vertical, pull straight down
- Bullets 8-15: Slight right curve
- Bullets 16-20: Larger right swing
- Bullets 21-30: Return to center
The M4A4’s spray is more forgiving than the AK-47’s. The initial 10 bullets are almost straight down with minimal horizontal correction needed.
M4A1-S Spray Pattern
The silenced CT rifle. Easiest spray pattern in the game but only 20 rounds.
Pattern:
- Bullets 1-10: Almost perfectly vertical. Slight pull down, minimal horizontal correction.
- Bullets 11-20: Slight right curve, but tighter than M4A4.
Why players choose M4A1-S:
- Easier spray control
- Silenced (no tracers through smokes)
- Tighter overall spread
- Trade-off: 20 rounds vs 30 on M4A4
For new players, M4A1-S is strongly recommended. You’ll hit more shots with fewer bullets.
Galil (T-Side Budget Rifle)
The budget rifle for force buys and anti-eco rounds.
Pattern:
- Very aggressive vertical climb
- Bullets 1-5: Fast upward movement, pull down HARD
- Bullets 6-15: Significant right curve, then left
- Bullets 16-35: Large side-to-side swings
Tips:
- The Galil’s spray is wider than rifles — harder to control at range
- Burst-fire 3-5 bullets at medium+ range
- At close range, full spray and pull down aggressively
- First bullet accuracy is worse than AK/M4 — aim for upper chest, not head
FAMAS (CT-Side Budget Rifle)
CT’s budget option. Burst mode is surprisingly effective.
Pattern:
- Similar to Galil — aggressive vertical, then wide horizontal
- Burst mode: 3-round burst with tight grouping. Excellent at range.
- Full-auto: Unwieldy past 10 bullets
Tips:
- Use burst mode at medium-long range. The 3-round burst is very accurate.
- Full-auto only at close range
- The FAMAS is a “hold an angle and burst” weapon, not a spray-transfer weapon
Spray Transfer
Transferring spray between two enemies without resetting recoil is an advanced skill.
How to practice:
- Workshop map “Recoil Master” has transfer scenarios
- Start spraying enemy 1
- During the spray, flick to enemy 2’s head
- Your spray pattern continues from where it was — the bullets follow
Best Workshop Maps for Spray Practice
| Map | Focus |
|---|---|
| Recoil Master | Visual spray pattern overlay, transfer practice |
| Aim Botz | Spray transfer between moving bots |
| Fast Aim/Reflex Training | Close-range spray practice under pressure |
| YPrac Arena | Prefire angles + spray sections |
Daily Spray Routine (15 Minutes)
| Time | Drill |
|---|---|
| 5 min | AK-47 spray control at 10m, 15m, 20m ranges |
| 5 min | M4 of choice, same distances |
| 3 min | Spray transfer practice (Recoil Master) |
| 2 min | Deathmatch — apply sprays in real fights |
Master AK-47 spray first — you’ll use it the most. M4A1-S is easier for beginners. Don’t neglect spray practice — it’s the difference between winning and losing 50/50 fights.
