CS2 Economy Guide 2026 — Full Buy, Eco, Force Buy, Loss Bonus & Team Coordination
Economy management wins more rounds than aim. Understanding when to buy, save, or force can give your team a significant advantage even against mechanically superior opponents.
If you’re looking for CS2 economy guide 2026, when to force buy in CS2, or CS2 loss bonus mechanics, you’re in the right place.
Credit Sources
| Action | Cash |
|---|---|
| Kill (Rifle) | +300 |
| Kill (SMG) | +600 |
| Kill (Shotgun) | +900 |
| Kill (Knife) | +1,500 |
| Round Win (T) | +3,250 |
| Round Win (CT) | +3,500 |
| Round Loss | +1,400 (+500 per consecutive loss, max 3,400) |
| Bomb Plant (T) | +300 each |
| Bomb Defuse (CT) | +300 each |
Loss Bonus System
This is the most important mechanic to understand:
| Consecutive Losses | Loss Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | +1,400 |
| 2 | +1,900 |
| 3 | +2,400 |
| 4 | +2,900 |
| 5+ | +3,400 |
Key insight: If you’ve lost 3 rounds in a row, you get +2,400 for the next loss. That plus any kills can fund a full buy even on a loss. The more you lose, the closer you get to a full buy on a loss.
Buy Types
Full Buy (T: $3,700+, CT: $4,100+)
Complete loadout with utility:
| Side | Rifle | Armor | Utility | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T | AK-47 ($2,700) | Helmet ($1,000) | Smoke + 2× Flash + HE ($1,000) | $4,700 |
| CT | M4A4 ($3,100) | Helmet ($1,000) | Smoke + 2× Flash + HE + Defuse Kit ($1,400) | $5,500 |
You don’t need to buy EVERYTHING — a rifle + armor + smoke + flash is a fine full buy.
Eco Round ($2,000 or less)
Save money. Buy nothing, or Deagle only ($700). Some players buy just a P250 ($300) for close-range potential.
Goal: Full buy next round. Don’t buy anything that prevents next round’s full buy.
Force Buy ($2,500-$3,700)
All-in buy despite not having enough for rifles:
| Weapon | Cost | Why Force Buy |
|---|---|---|
| Galil (T) | $1,800 | Budget AK |
| FAMAS (CT) | $2,050 | Budget M4, burst mode |
| MP9/MAC-10 | $1,250 | High kill reward ($600), shreds unarmored |
| Scout (SSG 08) | $1,700 | One-shot headshot, budget AWP |
| Deagle | $700 | One-shot headshot, highest skill reward |
When to force buy:
- You planted the bomb last round (extra $800 team total)
- You’re on match point — there is no next round
- Enemy is on eco and you want to guarantee the round
Half Buy
Partial investment, saving for rifles next round. Typically: Deagle + armor ($1,350 max spend).
Pistol Round Strategy
T-Side Pistol
Buy options:
- Kevlar ($650, no helmet) — survive more fights
- Smoke + Flash ($500) — execute a site with utility
- P250 ($300) + Flash ($200) — upgraded pistol + utility
Recommended: Kevlar. Surviving longer matters more than utility in pistol round.
CT-Side Pistol
Buy options:
- Kevlar ($650) — standard
- Defuse Kit ($400) + Dualies/P250 — faster defuse
- Smoke + Flash ($500) — delay T push
Recommended: Defuse Kit + P250. Denying the plant is more valuable than surviving.
Team Coordination Rules
-
If one teammate can’t full buy, the team saves together. Never have 4 rifles + 1 pistol. That player is dead weight and their weapon loss is guaranteed.
-
Buy for teammates. If you have excess ($6,000+), drop a rifle for a teammate who’s broke. A rifle in their hands wins more rounds than $3,000 in your pocket.
-
Call your buy. Say “full buying” or “saving” at the start of each round. Press Tab, check team money.
-
Don’t buy helmet on full T-side buys vs CTs with AKs. AKs one-shot headshot regardless of helmet. Only buy helmet against SMGs/eco rounds.
-
SMGs on anti-eco rounds. MP9/MAC-10 give $600 per kill. Farm the enemy eco for economy advantage.
Round-by-Round Flow Sheet
| Round | Won Pistol? | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | — | Pistol round |
| 2 | Yes | SMG + helmet. Farm kills. |
| 2 | No | Full eco save. Deagle only or nothing. |
| 3 | Won 1+2 | Galil/FAMAS + helmet. Save for rifles. |
| 3 | Lost 1+2 | Full buy (AK/M4 + helmet + utility) |
| After plant | — | +$800 team bonus. Adjust buy accordingly. |
Mastering CS2 economy means always having a rifle when the enemy doesn’t. Coordinate with your team, manage your loss bonus, and never be the guy who buys an AWP while the team is on eco.
