Rust Raid Calculator

Build your target list — get explosive counts, total sulfur and the full shopping list before you farm.

Counts are hard-side 2026 chart values.

Plan the raid before you farm it

Raids fail in the farm phase, not the breach phase: teams farm 8,000 sulfur for a job that needed 12,000, or haul 40 rockets when mixed satchels would have halved the cost. The calculator prices your exact target list — every door, wall and hatch in path order — in your chosen explosive, then totals sulfur and the supporting materials (charcoal, metal fragments, cloth, tech trash) so the farm has a finish line.

Two rules dominate target selection. First, doors beat walls: a sheet metal door costs 1 C4 against 4 for the wall beside it, and only garage doors deny you the choice (no soft side, same price both ways). Second, mixing beats purity: explosive ammo is cheapest per damage on doors if you carry a rifle, satchels are cheapest early, and finishing cracked targets with beancans saves full charges. Honeycomb exists precisely to force wall breaches — path through doors wherever the base allows.

Counts track the 2026 charts on hard sides; soft-side melee (7 picks on stone) is an offline-raid special, not a plan. Bring 10–20% extra for satchel duds and bad throws, and scout the base first — see our Rust raiding guide and base design guide for both sides of the wall.

Frequently asked questions

How much sulfur is a C4, rocket or satchel?

From-scratch craft costs: C4 2,200 sulfur, rocket 1,400, satchel charge 480, beancan grenade 120, explosive 5.56 round 25. Found or bought explosives cost you less than crafting.

Should I blow doors or walls?

Doors, almost always — a sheet metal door falls to 1 C4 while the wall around it needs 4. Garage doors take 2 C4 with no soft side, so direction never matters there.

Why mix explosives instead of one type?

Each explosive has a different sulfur-to-damage ratio per material. Finishing a nearly-broken target with the cheap option avoids wasting a full charge — a garage door runs ~3,750 sulfur on explosive ammo alone but ~2,400 mixing 1 rocket with 40 rounds.

How accurate are the counts?

Counts follow the 2026 community raid charts (hard side). Facepunch rebalances between wipes — treat these as planning numbers, verify in-game, and always bring 10–20% extra for duds and bad throws.

Example: door + wall raid plan

Sheet metal door (1× C4) + Sheet metal wall behind (4× C4). Total: 5 C4 = 11,000 sulfur. Verdict: "Doors beat walls — always path through doors first."
