RotMG Fame Farming Guide 2026 — Best Ways to Earn Fame Fast

Fame is RotMG’s secondary currency. You need it for the Pet Yard, feeding your pet, and unlocking classes. Unlike items, Fame is earned when a character dies — meaning you must deliberately kill characters to farm it efficiently. Here is how to maximise your Fame income.

If you’re looking for Realm of the Mad God, or Realm of the Mad God guide, or Best Ways to Earn Fame Fast, you’re in the right place.

How Fame Works

When a character dies, their earned experience is converted to Fame. Additional bonuses multiply this base amount:

BonusMultiplierHow to Earn
Base Fame1xExperience earned during the character’s life
Well Equipped+10-50%Die with high-tier gear equipped
Friend of the Cubes+10%Kill Cube Gods
Oryx Slayer+10%Kill Oryx (any version)
Tunnel Rat+3-10%Complete dungeons
Explorer+5%Explore every biome in a realm
Accurate+5%Hit 50%+ of your shots

Maximum Fame multiplier: approximately 2.5-3x with all bonuses active.

Suicide Farming Strategy

The fastest Fame farming method:

  1. Create a throwaway character. Wizard or Necromancer are ideal (ranged, good DPS).
  2. Level to 20 in the Godlands. Takes 10-15 minutes.
  3. Accumulate bonuses: Kill a Cube God, explore biomes, complete easy dungeons.
  4. Kill the character by walking into a dangerous situation (or just enter a hard dungeon unprepared).
  5. Repeat.

Average Fame per suicide run: 200-500 Fame (base + bonuses). With a good pet and experience, you can do 3-4 runs per hour = 1,000-2,000 Fame per hour.

Fame Train (Group Farming)

Fame Trains are organised groups that rapidly clear Godlands for maximum EXP:

  • Join the Fame Train Discord or look for groups in USEast/USWest servers
  • Follow the group, tag every mob once, let the group kill it
  • In 20-30 minutes: level 20 + multiple dungeon completions + boss kills
  • Death Fame per train run: 400-800 (with full bonuses)

Fame Trains are the most efficient method if you can find an active group.

Best Classes for Fame Farming

ClassWhy
WizardSpellbomb clears groups instantly. Best solo farmer.
NecromancerSelf-sustain means less downtime. Slightly slower than Wizard.
ArcherPiercing arrows clear lines of enemies. Great in trains.
SorcererChain lightning for AoE. Good in high-density areas.

What to Spend Fame On

  1. Pet Yard upgrades — Absolute priority. A maxed Pet Yard is required for Divine pets.
  2. Feeding your pet — Feed items cost Fame. Feed high-FP items (400+).
  3. Unlocking classes — Some classes require Fame to unlock (e.g., Samurai, Bard).
  4. Guild creation — 1,000 Fame to create a guild.

Do NOT spend Fame on cosmetic items, dyes, or mystery boxes. Those are traps.

Maximising Fame Bonuses

Before killing your character for Fame, ensure these bonuses are active:

  1. Well Equipped — Wear the best gear you can before dying. T11+ weapons, T12+ armour, T5+ abilities, T5+ rings. Do not die naked.
  2. Tunnel Rat — Complete at least one dungeon of each tier (Easy, Medium, Hard).
  3. Oryx Slayer — Kill Oryx 1 (Castle) once. Easy to do during a Realm closing.
  4. Friend of the Cubes — Kill a Cube God. They spawn in Godlands. Tag it and let others kill it.
  5. Accurate — Use a staff or wand class. Piercing weapons make this trivial.
  6. Explorer — Visit all 5-6 biomes in a realm (Beach, Lowlands, Midlands, Highlands, Godlands, Mountains).

Summary

Use suicide Wizard/Necromancer runs for 200-500 Fame per death. Join Fame Trains for 400-800 Fame per run. Upgrade your Pet Yard first. Max all Fame bonuses before killing each character. Farming Fame is a grind — accept it and make it routine.
