How to Unlock the Fairy Race in Project Gorgon (2026 Updated Requirements)

Unlocking the Fairy race in Project Gorgon remains one of the game’s prestigious achievements. As of the February 2026 patch, the requirements have been slightly streamlined but still require a dedicated effort in multiple high-level zones.

This guide details the exact path to becoming a Fairy, from the initial quest to the final ritual.

Prerequisites

Before starting, ensure you have:

• Combat Level: At least level 40 in two combat skills (to survive Gazluk).
• Flight: Have the “Raven Form” or a “Potion of Flight” (essential for reaching the sky-island).

Step 1: The Fae Realm Connection

You must first gain the trust of the Fae.

1. Find the NPC ‘Trixie’: She is located in the Sun Vale, on the small island in the southeast (Coords: 340, 880).
2. Favor Requirement: Raise favor with Trixie to “Close Friends”.
   • Best Gifts: Crystal Vials, Fairy Dust, or Uncut Gems.
   • Note: The 2026 patch removed the requirement to give her “Hardwood”, making this step faster.

Step 2: Retrieving the Fairy Soul

Once Trixie trusts you, she will give you the quest “A Soul of Light”.

• Location: You must travel to the Gazluk Plateau.
• Objective: Find the hidden “Frozen Faerie” corpse.
• Exact Spot: It is located inside the New Gazluk Cave (added recently). Navigate to the “Cavern of Wind” section. The corpse is on a ledge reachable only by flying/jumping.
• Item: Loot the Trapped Fairy Soul.

Step 3: The Ritual of Rebirth

Return to Trixie with the Soul. She will instruct you to perform the ritual at the Altar of Change.

• Altar Location: Eltibule, atop the large stone pillar near the castle.
• Components Needed:
  1. Moonstone (x1)
  2. Milk of the Unicorn (x1 - rare drop from Unicorns in Kur/Gazluk)
  3. The Trapped Fairy Soul

Interact with the altar at night (in-game time). Select “Offer Soul for Rebirth”.

Warning: Permanent Change

Becoming a Fairy resets your race. You will:

• gains Flight and Fae Magic.
• Lose Animal Handling (Fairies cannot tame pets).
• Be permanently small (affects camera and hitboxes).
