Destiny 2 ‘Frontiers’: Raid Prep Guide
Destiny 2: Frontiers is launching soon, taking us outside the Sol System for the first time. The Day 1 Raid race will be brutal. If you want that contest mode emblem, you need to start prepping now.
1. Bounty Hoarding
While Bungie nerfed XP gains from old bounties, they are still crucial for the Artifact Bonus Power.
- Prioritize: Weekly Bounties (Cosmodrome, Europa, Moon).
- Avoid: Seasonal Bounties (they will be deleted).
- Goal: Have 8/8 bounties ready on all 3 characters.
2. Resource Management
- Gimmer: Cap it at 500k. Buy Phantasmal Fragments on the Moon if you are overcapped; they act as a Glimmer bank.
- Ascendant Shards/Alloys: Cap these in your inventory AND your Postmaster. The new “Exotic Class Item” merging system will likely be expensive.
- Spoils of Conquest: You need 240. Do a quick Vow of the Disciple run to top off.
3. Weapon Meta Predictions
Based on artifact leaks, Pulse Rifles and Rocket Sidearms will be the anti-champion meta.
- Farm: get a god-roll Indebted Kindness or the new dungeon Rocket Sidearm.
- Heavy: Apex Predator (Rocket) is still king, but Whisper of the Worm might see a resurgence due to boss crit spots in the new raid concept art looking small/static.
4. Light Level Goals
- Floor: 2100.
- Soft Cap: 2150.
- Power Cap: 2200.
- Raid Ready: You likely need to be 2180 for Contest Mode (minus artifact).
Clean your vault. Delete anything under 65 stat total. You’re going to need the space for the new “Frontier” weapon archetypes.
