Destiny 2: Frontiers - How to Access the โDeep Spaceโ Patrol Zone
The Frontiers expansion has introduced one of the most visually stunning locations in Destiny 2 history: the Deep Space patrol zone. However, unlike previous destinations, it isnโt available immediately after the first mission.
You must complete a specific post-campaign quest chain to clear the nebula barrier and land.

If youโre looking for Destiny 2, or Frontiers - How to Access the Deep Space Patrol Zone, youโre in the right place.
Step-by-Step Unlock Guide
1. Complete the Campaign Mission โThe Edgeโ
You must finish the main Frontiers campaign. The final mission, โThe Edge,โ culminates in a cutscene involving the Witnessโs remnants. Once you return to orbit, the quest โBeyond the Veilโ will appear in your log.
2. Speak to Zavala in the New H.E.L.M.
Go to the H.E.L.M. (updated layout). Zavala is now located in the Starboard wing. Speak to him to advance the quest. He will give you the โStar-Chartโ artifact.
3. Star-Chart Quest: Step 3
The โDeep Spaceโ zone is locked behind Step 3 of the Star-Chart questline.
- Task: Collect 50 Nebula Dust from activities in the Sol System.
- Fastest Farm: Run Public Events on Europa or Neptune. Heroic Public Events drop 10 Dust each.
4. Clear the Nebula Barrier
Once you have the dust:
- Open the Director.
- Navigate to the new โUnknown Spaceโ node on the far right.
- Select the mission โBreachโ.
- This is a solo mission where you pilot your ship through a hazard course. Survive the run to permanently unlock the Deep Space landing zone.
What to Do First?
Once you land, head immediately to Sector Zero. This area contains the region chest with the new Frontier Shell ghost, which increases glimmer gains in the Deep Space zone by 15%.
