If you’re looking for Star Trek Online, or Star Trek Online guide, or Best Reputations to Max First, you’re in the right place.
How Reputations Work
Each reputation has 6 tiers. You advance by running daily (20-hour) projects that cost marks, expertise, and EC. At Tier 5, you unlock the reputation’s trait and discount on gear projects. At Tier 6, you unlock additional traits and vanity shields.
A Tier 5 reputation takes roughly 40 days of daily projects. Tier 6 takes another 30-40 days.
Optimal Levelling Order
Phase 1: Core Combat Reputations (Level Simultaneously)
Run these three reputations together. They provide the foundational gear for any energy weapon build.
1. Discovery Legends
The most important reputation. Gear to get:
- Tilly’s Review-Pending Modified Shield — Best shield for survivability. Huge shield capacity.
- Elite Fleet Intervention Protomatter Deflector (Fleet Colony) — Best-in-slot deflector for energy builds.
- Wide Angle Dual Heavy Beam Bank — Good if flying a ship that can use DBBs.
Trait: Tyler’s Duality — +Crit Chance based on hull HP. Strong for cruisers.
2. Competitive Wargames
- Prevailing Innervated Impulse Engines — Best-in-slot engines. Gives a massive speed burst when you activate a firing mode. Transforms your ship’s mobility.
Trait: Magnified Firepower — +5% Bonus damage on weapon enhancements.
3. Terran Task Force
- Terran Task Force Phaser/Disruptor Beam Array — The single highest-damage beam array in the game. 200% damage to targets below 25% hull. Mandatory on any phaser or disruptor build.
- Terran Task Force Photon Torpedo — Best photon torpedo in the game. Scales with enemy hull.
Trait: Withering Barrage — Extends Cannon Scatter Volley duration. Mandatory for cannon builds.
Phase 2: Utility Reputations
4. Omega (Borg)
- Omega Kinetic Shearing trait — Torpedoes apply a 40% damage DoT
- Assimilated Module console — +Crit Chance and +Crit Severity
5. Romulan
- Romulan Singularity Harness — 2-piece set bonus gives +15% plasma damage
- Precision trait — +4% Crit Chance
6. Nukara
- Nukara Particle Converter console — +Beam accuracy
- Auxiliary Power Configuration: Offense trait — +Damage based on Aux power
Phase 3: The Rest
The remaining reputations (Dyson, Undine, Delta, Iconian, Lukari, Temporal) provide niche items and additional traits. Level them when your core build is complete.
Mark Farming Efficiency
| Method | Marks/Time | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Random TFO (Advanced) | 70-140 | General marks + Dil |
| Specific TFO spam | 60-100 | Targeted marks |
| Red Alerts | 35-60 | Quick runs, any marks |
| Patrols (Wanted, etc.) | 15-30 | Solo players |
| Event dailies | 100+ | During events |
Run Random TFOs for efficiency. The random bonus marks can be applied to any reputation.
Summary
Level Discovery Legends, Competitive Wargames, and Terran Task Force simultaneously. Get the Tilly shield, Prevailing engines, and Terran beam array first. Continue with Omega, Romulan, and Nukara for traits. Use Random TFOs for marks.
