| A-Tier | Spy, Bounty Hunter, Medic |
| B-Tier | Smuggler, Entertainer, Trader |
| C-Tier | — (all are viable) |
S-Tier Breakdown
Jedi: The iconic class. Requires the Jedi unlock quest. Powerful lightsaber combat. Most popular and hardest to obtain.
Commando: Heavy weapons, AoE damage, tanky. Best for solo PvE and group content. Easy to gear.
Officer: Buffs and debuffs, group support. Uses grenades and leadership abilities. Always wanted in groups.
Best for Beginners
- Commando — easy, powerful, self-sufficient
- Officer — wanted in groups, easy to contribute
- Medic — healers always in demand
The Jedi Unlock Quest
Becoming a Jedi is the most iconic journey in SWG. It’s a multi-step questline, not a random unlock.
Jedi Unlock Steps (Legends)
- Reach level 90 (max level)
- Complete the main questline (the “Legacy” quests)
- Complete the Village of Aurilia questline (Dathomir)
- Complete the Force-sensitive quests
- Face the Jedi trials
- Unlock the Jedi profession
Note: The Jedi unlock in Legends is quest-based and deterministic (not the old random “hologrind”). Anyone who completes the quests unlocks Jedi.
Jedi Basics
Once unlocked, Jedi uses:
- Lightsaber combat
- Force powers (healing, damage, crowd control)
- Unique lightsaber crystal customization
- Force sensitivity system (dark/light alignment)
Player Cities & Housing
Player cities are SWG’s signature feature. Entire towns built and governed by players.
How to Place a House
- Find a spot outside city limits (or buy land in an existing city)
- Purchase a house deed from a Trader
- Place the house
- Decorate and store items
Joining a Player City
- Find an active city (use the city registry)
- Contact the mayor
- Ask to join (may need to buy a plot)
- Enjoy city bonuses (shuttle, vendors, crafting stations)
Crafting & Economy
SWG has the deepest crafting system in MMO history. Traders create nearly everything.
Crafting Professions
| Profession | What They Make |
|---|---|
| Architect | Houses, furniture, structures |
| Armorsmith | Armor |
| Weaponsmith | Weapons |
| Chef | Food and drinks (buffs) |
| Tailor | Clothing, backpacks |
| Droid Engineer | Droids, droid modules |
Resources matter: SWG resources have stats. A rare high-quality resource makes better items. Resource surveying and harvesting is the Trader’s endgame.
