Monsters & Memories: Proof of Valor Walkthrough

The “Proof of Valor” is a level 15 class quest required for Warriors and Paladins to unlock their defensive stance. It involves a riddle, a hidden location, and a mini-boss fight.

Starting the Quest

Talk to Commander Horgus in the Night Harbor barracks. He handles you a Tarnished Medal and says: “Where the sun hits the stone soldier’s shield at noon, the path shall open.”

The Riddle Solution

  1. Travel to the Ruins of Al-Khar (East of Night Harbor).
  2. Find the giant fallen statue of a soldier.
  3. Wait for in-game time to hit 12:00 PM (Check /time).
  4. At noon, a “Shimmering Portal” appears near the shield of the statue. You only have 5 minutes to enter.

Inside the Trial

You appear in a small instance called “The Hall of Ancients.”

  • Enemies: Level 15-16 Skeletons. They link, so pull carefully with a bow or throwing stone.
  • The Boss: Spectral Guardian.

Boss Fight: Spectral Guardian

  • HP: 2,500
  • Mechanic: At 50% HP, he casts “Spirit Shield.” He becomes immune to physical damage.
  • Counter: You must kick/bash the “Spirit Orb” floating in the room into the boss. This shatters the shield.
  • Damage: He hits hard. Make sure you bring Bandages and Potions.

Reward

Return the Polished Medal to Commander Horgus.

  • Reward: Skill Book: Defensive Stance (Rank 1).
  • XP: 5,000.
