Embers Adrift: ‘The Shattered Peaks’ Zone Guide

Stormhaven Studios continues to support their old-school, group-centric MMO. The Shattered Peaks is a Level 40-50 zone added in the February patch.

Zone Overview

This area is vertical. You will need to manage your Stamina carefully while climbing via the new “Mountaineering” system (slow climbing on specific textures).

  • Mob Types: Ice Giants, Winter Wolves, and Crystalline Constructs.
  • Difficulty: You cannot solo here. Even a single wolf requires a duo. A full group of 6 is recommended for questing.

New Dungeon: Frosthold

Located at the summit.

  • Setup: You need 1 Tank, 2 Healers (one pure Healer, one Warlord/Support), 3 DPS.
  • Key Mechanic: “Hypothermia”. If you stand still for more than 5 seconds, you freeze. The entire dungeon forces constant movement.
  • Loot: Drops the Glacial Plate set, which has the highest Cold Resist in the game (needed for the raid teaser).

Alchemy Changes

New herbs found only in the peaks:

  1. Frostleaf: Used for Potions of Stoneskin (Physical mitigation).
  2. Crystal Bloom: Used for Alacrity Potions (Haste).

Embers Adrift remains a niche experience, but for those who love the pacing of EverQuest combined with modern tactical combat, Shattered Peaks is a fantastic addition.
