Crossout Beginner Guide 2026

Crossout is a post-apocalyptic vehicle combat MMO where you build your own war machine from scavenged parts and battle in PvP arenas.

Vehicle building: Use the garage to construct your vehicle. Frame pieces provide structure. Cabin determines your vehicle’s energy and stats. Weapons consume energy — more powerful weapons need more energy. Wheels, armour, and modules fill the rest. Keep your cabin protected — if it is destroyed, you die.

Best early weapons: MGs (machine guns) are beginner-friendly — good range, easy to aim, consistent damage. Shotguns for close-range burst. Cannons for heavy single-shot damage at higher levels.

Faction choice: Each faction unlocks specific parts. Engineers (starter) → Lunatics (fast, light) → Nomads (balanced, versatile) → Scavengers (heavy, durable). Level all factions eventually.

Note: Verified as of July 2026. Check official patch notes for updates.

Faction Progression — What to Level First

Each faction unlocks unique parts. Level them in this order for optimal progression:

OrderFactionLevel TargetKey Unlocks
1Engineers10Basic structural parts, starter weapons
2Lunatics7Light frames, shotguns, fast wheels
3Nomads7Medium frames, balanced weapons
4Scavengers10Heavy frames, cannons, truck parts
5Steppenwolfs7Military-grade armour, heavy tracks
6Dawn’s Children7Energy weapons, hovers
7Firestarters7Fire weapons, melee parts

Do not split levels evenly. Push Engineers to level 10 first for basic structural parts, then Lunatics for speed, then Scavengers for durability. Specialise based on your preferred playstyle (fast/light = Lunatics, heavy/tank = Scavengers).

Parts List Economics

Crafting parts requires resources from missions and raids. Sell unwanted parts on the player market:

  • Blue/Purple weapons — 10-50 coins each
  • Epic cabins — 100-500 coins
  • Limited-edition parts (event rewards) — hold for 3-6 months, then sell for 2-5x value

Use CrossoutDB to check live market prices before buying or selling anything expensive.
