TBC Classic Honor Cap Planner
Tick your Season 1 off-pieces — see the honor total against the 75k cap, marks per battleground, and whether Day 1 actually fits.
Why the cap breaks most pre-season plans
The Season 1 off-set costs about 101,000 Honor — and the game only lets you hold 75,000. Every player who farms "as much as possible" hits the cap, buys blindly on Day 1, then discovers the trinket they actually needed is still 17,000 Honor away. Planning the buy order against the real vendor costs turns a scramble into a checklist: medallion and ring first, belt and boots second, everything else farmed after.
Marks are the second wallet people forget. Off-pieces cost Honor plus battleground marks — 60 Arathi Basin and 50 Eye of the Storm marks for the full set — and marks cap at 100 per battleground. The planner totals marks per BG so you queue the right battlegrounds during pre-patch instead of discovering on launch day that you're 40 AB marks short with no way to convert.
One more trap this planner assumes you already avoided: the 5-piece Blue set (Dragonhide, Felweave and friends) is bought with gold at Revered reputation, not Honor. Farm reputation dungeons for those slots and save every Honor point for the off-pieces below. Full breakdown in our TBC honor cap calculator guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Honor cap in TBC Classic?
75,000 Honor Points, and 100 Marks of Honor per battleground (Alterac Valley, Arathi Basin, Warsong Gulch, Eye of the Storm). You cannot bank more — anything above the cap is wasted farming.
How much Honor does the full Season 1 off-set cost?
Roughly 101,146 Honor plus marks across all four battlegrounds — which is why the cap matters: you cannot afford everything on Day 1 and must prioritize.
What should I buy first?
The Medallion trinket (CC break, mandatory for Arena) and the ring first, then belt and boots for the biggest stat-per-honor return. That core runs about 64,000 Honor.
Do I spend Honor on the 5-piece Blue PvP set?
No — that set is bought with gold at Revered reputation with five Outland factions. Spending Honor there is the classic pre-season trap; this planner only covers the Honor off-pieces.
