WoW Classic Talent Calculator
51 points, three trees. Split them and see what your build commits to — before you respec.
The 51-point budget at 60
At level 60 in Classic you hold exactly 51 talent points. That is the entire budget that defines your damage, tanking or healing role, and it is a fixed pie: every point near the bottom of one tree is a point you never get back elsewhere. Pre-expansion, a full 31-point spec-lock in one tree plus 20 points spread usually beats a thin 25/15/11 split — but class-by-class it varies and the numbers, not folklore, should drive the decision.
Respecs are expensive, not optional
Refunds cost escalating gold up to 50 gold per full respec, and gold is famously hard in Classic — so planning the total distribution first, before you go fight and buy anything, saves trips to the trainer. The planner will tell you if your tree split over-commits, under-commits, or locks you into a tier-driven signature deep talent you did not intend (31-point deep talents are the biggest drafting errors for most classes).
Deep talents and level gates
Tier talents at deeper layers require both prior points in the same tree AND minimum character level — you cannot bank 31 into a tree before its level gates unlock. Split early, revisit at 40, revisit again at 60. The planner flags common mistakes: 51 spread evenly across all three (a build that is master of nothing), branch over-commitment, or sum over 51 which is not possible at 60 in Classic.
Frequently asked questions
How many talent points at level 60 in Classic?
Exactly 51 — one per level gained from 10 through 60. Any split valid at 60 must sum to at most 51.
What is a common mistake?
Spreading points across all three trees without committing to one. Most Classic specs need 31+ points in a tree to reach deep signature talents.
How much does a respec cost?
Gold cost escalates each respec up to a 50-gold cap per reset. Plan the full 51-point split before buying respecs repeatedly.
