What the analyzer checks

Standard workshop wisdom for a 60-card constructed deck: 24 lands as a starting point, a curve whose peak sits around turn 2-3 for aggressive shells and turn 3-4 for midrange, and a land-to-spell ratio that never leaves you mana-screwed or mana-flooded for more than a couple of turns. The analyzer computes all of these from your actual list, not a template — then an AI report turns the numbers into decisions.

The tool handles any Arena decklist shape: "4x Lightning Bolt" or "4 Lightning Bolt (STA) 42", Deck and Sideboard headers, foil annotations like [Arena promo], even a Commander line for Commander brews. Set and collector numbers are stripped before lookup, and the remaining card names go to Scryfall in batches with a short courtesy delay so we stay well inside rate limits.

AI suggestions are conservative by design: the model is only shown computed numbers and card names, and is told not to invent banned lists or current meta standings. Cuts and adds read like an experienced friend's first pass at a brew — solid direction on mana curve, color problems, and making the deck cheaper where possible.

Try it alongside our new MTG Arena beginner guide for the mechanics that trip up newer players — opening hand mulligan math, land drops and climbing the ranked ladder.

Frequently asked questions

How do I export a decklist from MTG Arena?

In a deck screen, open the import/export box and copy the full list — Arena exports as "4 Card Name (SET) 123" lines with Deck/Commander/Sideboard headers. Paste the whole block here; headers and set codes are handled automatically.

What does the deck report include?

Computed stats (total cards, land ratio, average converted mana cost, color identity, cmc curve, estimated deck USD price) plus an AI critique: strengths, weaknesses, and specific cut/add suggestions.

Where does card data come from?

Scryfall, the community-standard MTG card database — prices, mana costs, and types are fetched live and cached for a week. Scryfall data is free; attribution is included below.

Is the MTG deck analyzer free?

Yes — completely free, no account required. A light bot-protection check and a daily usage cap keep the AI analyst free for everyone.
