Elite Dangerous Bounty Calculator

Bounty per kill × kills per hour = credits in the bank — compare targets, plan rebuy coverage and goal dates.

Bounties pay on redemption (docking at Friendly stations), net of any penalties or brokerage — your entered rates decide all totals.

Bounty economics

Bounty hunting in Elite Dangerous is a credit machine with a variable: bounty size per kill changes dramatically with target type (an elite-conditioned Sidewinder versus a combat Anaconda), ship build fit, and the space you farm in. Enter your real average from last session's claim screens — not the best-notch that floods these forums — and the planner delivers credits/hour, a daily total, and the calendar count to your credit goal.

Cost per hour matters too

Missile and munitions builds burn outfit per hour hard, and ammo costs midnight across tens of hours. Enter your measured outfit cost per hour (ammo, limpets, repair) and the planner subtracts it from gross — some popular-looking builds have a beastly net figure once replenishment lands. The net number is what funds your rebuy overnight.

Rebuy coverage is a law of survival

Every hunter eventually eats a rebuy — the golden rule is to float at least 3 rebuys beyond your working cash. The planner fetches that check for you: enter your current rebuy cost (5% of hull value on your ship) and it flags when daily profit does not cover an amortized rebuy or when your buffer sits below 3. Hunt with margin; the calculator makes the trade-off explicit.

Frequently asked questions

Where do bounty payouts go?

Unredeemed bounty vouchers convert to credits when you dock at a station whose faction covers them (or Interstellar for a share). Stop at an applicable station before you log.

What bounty-per-kill should I enter?

Your own session average from bounty claim screens. Elite rank targets and shield-condition Anacondas can run millions; low-tier targets a fraction of that — the planner works from your number, whatever it is.

What is the recommended rebuy cushion?

Common community rule is keeping at least 3 rebuys plus working credits for outfitting. The planner flags your current buffer health against that rule.
