How to use the type chart

Bring at least three different elements into any serious fight. The fastest way to read the chart: find your attacker's row, then scan for 1.6 cells - those are your safe switch-ins and burst windows. If your best attacker's row is mostly 0.625 against the target, switch to a coverage pick instead of forcing the damage.

Dual-type Aniimo multiply both defending elements, so a Fire/Earth defender takes Water at 1.6 x 1.6 = 2.56 effective damage. That is the highest multiplier in the game and the reason coverage beats raw stats in most fights.

Frequently asked questions

What are the Aniimo type chart multipliers?

Super-effective hits deal x1.6 damage, resisted hits deal x0.625, and every other matchup is neutral at x1. Aniimo has no immunities, so no element ever deals zero damage.

How many element matchups are there in Aniimo?

There are 9 elements and 81 attacker-versus-defender matchups in total. Each element resists itself except Dark, which hits Dark at full neutral damage.

How does dual-type damage work in Aniimo?

A dual-type Aniimo takes each incoming hit at the product of both its elements. For example, a Fire/Earth creature hit by Water applies the Water-vs-Fire multiplier and the Water-vs-Earth multiplier together.

Which Aniimo element is best?

No single element is best - coverage is what wins fights. Water hits Fire, Earth and Lightning for super-effective damage, while Light and Dark each resist only themselves and hit widely. Build a team that covers the elements your starter misses.

Example: reading the chart

Water hits Fire at x1.6 (super-effective), Fire hits Water at x0.625 (resisted). A dual-type Fire/Earth creature hit by Water takes 1.6 × 1.6 = 2.56× effective damage — the highest multiplier in the game.
