In Profane Alpha 2, establishing a foothold is the first step toward dominance. Building a Guild Keep is not just about storage; it defines your territory and influence. This guide covers the claiming process and essential construction costs.

Territory Claiming and The Dominion Crystal

Before you place a single stone, you must claim territory. This is done by placing a Dominion Crystal.

• Function: Prevents structure decay within its radius and marks the land as yours.
• Placement: Must be placed on flat terrain. It is the heart of your keep; if it is destroyed, your claim is lost.
• Maintenance: The crystal must be fed “Aether” regularly to maintain the protection field.

Construction Costs

Building a basic keep requires significant community effort. Ensure your guild has gathered the following materials before starting:

• 500 Stone Blocks: Harvested from quarries.
• 200 Iron Ingots: Smelted from ore found in rocky biomes.
• 50 Dominion Shards: Rare drops from elite mobs or world bosses, needed to craft the initial Crystal.

Strategic Locations

Choosing where to build is as important as what you build.

• Best Biome for Defense: Jagged Peaks. The layout of this biome provides natural choke points, forcing enemies to funnel into kill zones.
• Trade-off: Resource scarcity. While defensible, you will need to run caravans to bring in wood and food from lower elevations.

When designing your walls, ensure you leave room for:

1. Inner Sanctum: Where the Dominion Crystal lives. Double-wall this area.
2. Archer Platforms: Elevated positions overlooking the main gate.
3. Murder Holes: Gaps in the entryway floor to pour burning oil on attackers.
