The Storm Strider is one of the most visually striking mounts in Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore. It is an electric-infused wolf that leaves a trail of sparks as it runs. However, it only appears under specific weather conditions and requires a high-level taming item.
Here is how to secure this rare mount.
Location & Weather Requirement
You cannot find this mob on a sunny day.
- Zone: Thunder Peaks.
- Weather: Thunderstorm. You must wait for the dynamic weather system to trigger a storm. If it is just raining, the mob will not spawn.
- Spawn Point: Look for the highest plateau in the center of the peaks. The wolf patrols the edge of the cliff.
Preparation: The Charged Meat
Standard meat will not work. You must craft Charged Meat using the Cooking profession.
- Recipe: Raw Venison + Thunder Essence.
- Note: Thunder Essence drops from the elemental mobs in the same zone.
Taming Minigame Strategy
Once you find the Storm Strider and feed it the Charged Meat, the taming minigame begins. This is harder than standard mounts.
- The Tension Bar: Keep the tension bar in the Green Zone.
- Lightning Strikes: During the minigame, lightning will strike the ground around you. You must use your movement keys (WASD) to dodge the red circles on the ground while maintaining the tension balance.
- Fail Condition: If you get hit by lightning or let the bar turn red for more than 3 seconds, the mount will flee and despawn.
