Dragonwilds bosses come in three flavors — world bosses (story-mandatory, region-gating), mini bosses (quest hooks with unique drops) and Vault bosses (dungeon-floor challenges with the loot tables you’ll farm). The 1.0 launch caps the saga with a proper raid: Kuldra, the God-Eater Dragon Queen, in the Scorned Wilderness. Here’s every boss, what they drop, and what actually kills them.
Note: Verified September 17, 2026 using the Dragonwilds wiki’s boss tables and Jagex’s 1.0 launch notes. Power levels (1–4) indicate relative difficulty; stats shift slightly on higher power-level realms.
World Bosses
World bosses are the story beats — beating them unlocks the next region’s content pipeline:
| Boss | Power level | HP | Weakness | Location / Quest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Velgar (Queen Kuldra’s general) | 4 | 6,000 | — | Velgar’s Rise / Dragon Slayer questline |
Velgar is the 1.0-gate fight — the recent community intel puts him as the wall between the Fractured Plains story chapters and the deeper game. Solo players want Rune-tier ranged; melee needs a Fire-slot staff or a high-stamina build for his long windows of counterattack. The named drop is Velgar’s Head (quest token) — everything else rolls on the standard loot table.
Mini Bosses
| Boss | Power | HP | Weakness | Zone | Notable drops |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Abyssal demon | 4 | 1,500 | Slash | Whispering Swamp → Fractured Plains / Bloodblight Swamp | Abyssal Spine, Abyssal Ashes |
The Bloodblight Swamp outposts round the pool — these are the checkpoint bosses that gate certain questlines (and farm money in co-op, since Abyssal Spine is a contested recipe ingredient).
Vault Bosses: The Full Farm List
Vaults are Dragonwilds’ mini-dungeons, each ending in a named boss scaled by Vault power level (2 and 5 are the common tiers to re-run). Power scales with the region you’re clearing:
| Boss | Powers | HP | Weakness | Key drops |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rat kings (x3 variants) | 2 / 5 | 280 / 805 | Stab | Raw Rat Meat, Coarse Animal Fur, Animal Hide Scraps, Small Animal Fang |
| Vault overlord (Crasorak, Skekven) | 2 / 5 | 1,300 / 2,875 | Crush (Lv5) | Vault Shard |
| Vault archon (Thishepen) | 2 | 3,100 | — | Vault Shard |
| Vault incinerator (Takla) | 3 | 2,112 | Water | Vault Shard |
| Vault pyroclast (Chaktan) | 4 | 2,925 | Water | Vault Shard |
| Plague king (Kletterbuja) | 2–3 | 300–488 | Crush | Raw Rat Meat, Swamp Tar |
Vault Shard farming is the real game past hour five — Shards feed weapon special-attack recipes. The wiki’s live map tracks 189 Kalphite Worker positions alone, so use an interactive map to route (the mmokb tool pages cover GW2/OSRS hotspots; Dragonwilds has its own community trackers for this).
How the Region Scaling Works
Vault bosses reappear at different power levels across regions (Rat kings at P2 in early zones, P5 in deeper ones). Weaknesses stay constant — a Stab-weak rat king stays Stab-weak at P5, just with triple the HP and meaner tells.
The 1.0 Finale: Kuldra, the God-Eater
The Scorned Wilderness raid is 1.0’s climax and the Dragonwilds endgame hook:
- It lands alongside Rune-tier gear and the full Umbral Sands kit at launch — you’re not fighting Kuldra with Early Access gear; the intended progression path is Fight Caves → Nightmare Crucible → Scorned Wilderness.
- Fight Caves yield crafted Dragon-slaying gear; Nightmare Crucible is the challenge-mode ladder.
- Co-op scale: teams of up to six on dedicated servers make the raid, and Jagex positioned the whole Saga’s conclusion here.
FAQ
Who is Velgar in Dragonwilds? Velgar is the first world boss and Queen Kuldra’s general — a 6,000-HP gatekeeper you fight during the Velgar’s Rise / Dragon Slayer questline to open the deeper game.
What drops Vault Shards? Vault Overlords (Crasorak, Skekven) and Vault Archons (Thishepen) — the shard currency builds special-attack weapons via the blacksmith’s bench.
Does Dragonwilds have a raid? Yes — the 1.0 launch shipped the Scorned Wilderness raid against Kuldra the God-Eater, the final fight of the current Kuldra’s Saga arc.
What element beats the Vault Incinerator? Water. Incinerators and Pyroclasts (both ~2,100–2,900 HP) both fold hard to Water-spell pressure.
How many players for a Dragonwilds raid? Dedicated server co-op supports 2–6. Bosses scale with party presence; the Kuldra raid is designed for a 4–6 squad with ranged DPS + a Mace/Shield anchor.
