Dofus Kolossium Guide
The Kolossium (often spelled Kolosseum in some regions) is Dofus’s ranked PvP system, accessible once you reach the appropriate level. It matches players against opponents of similar skill in turn-based tactical combat and rewards dedicated PvP players with Kolossokens — the Kolossium-exclusive currency used for special rewards.
What Is the Kolossium?
The Kolossium is a dedicated PvP arena system separate from open-world PvP (Agression). It provides:
- Matchmaking — fair fights against opponents with similar ranking
- Team vs. Team combat on a randomly generated grid map
- A ranking system that tracks your win/loss record
- Kolossoken rewards for participation and wins
Unlike open-world PvP where level and gear heavily favour the aggressor, the Kolossium aims for more balanced matches through its ranking algorithm.
How to Access the Kolossium
- Travel to the Kolossium building in Amakna Village, Bonta, or Brakmar (entrances in major cities)
- Speak with the Kolosso (the giant tortoise NPC at the entrance)
- Sign up for a PvP match solo or with teammates
You can queue solo (matched with strangers as allies against a team) or queue with a preformed group. Solo queue is more common for beginners.
Match Format
Kolossium fights are typically 3v3 (three players per team). Each fight takes place on a closed tactical grid. Rules:
- Both teams take turns in initiative order (like all Dofus combat)
- You win by eliminating all opposing team members
- Fights time out if they go too long (preventing infinite stalling)
Kolossokens: The PvP Currency
Kolossokens are earned from:
- Winning Kolossium matches — the primary source
- Participating in matches (even losses give a smaller amount)
- Some seasonal PvP events
Kolossokens are spent at the Kolossium Rewards vendor for:
- Exclusive cosmetic items (pets, mounts, title scrolls)
- High-tier gear pieces available only through PvP
- Consumables and resources
The best Kolossium-exclusive cosmetics take significant win counts to afford, encouraging consistent PvP participation.
The Ranking System
Kolossium uses a rating-based ranking system where:
- Wins increase your rating
- Losses decrease your rating
- The amount gained/lost depends on the rating difference between teams (bigger upset = more gain)
Ratings are divided into tiers (similar to Elo-style systems). Higher tiers earn better per-win rewards and unlock access to higher-tier vendor items.
At the highest rating brackets, Kolossium becomes a prestige achievement — players at the top are well-known on each server.
PvP Team Composition
The most common competitive 3v3 compositions include:
Classic Balanced (Damage / Tank / Support)
- Damage dealer (Iop, Cra, or Sorcerer) — eliminates enemies quickly
- Tank/Controller (Sacrier or Feca) — absorbs hits and controls positioning
- Support/Healer (Eniripsa or Osamodas) — sustains the team
AP Drain Composition
- Xelor — drains enemy AP so they can barely act
- Feca — shields allies and applies glyphs
- Damage dealer — finishes AP-drained enemies
Summon Composition
- Osamodas — floods the grid with summoned creatures
- Sadida — adds additional summons and debuffs
- Eniripsa — keeps summons and allies alive
PvP vs. PvE Builds
PvP builds in Dofus often differ from PvE builds because:
- Resistances matter more in PvP (opponents choose what element to attack you with)
- Initiative is critical — going first in turn order can win fights outright
- Lock/Dodge stats become more important in player vs. player scenarios
- Pushback damage and CC abilities are more relevant than in PvE
Before queuing seriously, invest in mixed elemental resistance gear and boost your initiative.
Tips for Kolossium Success
- Know your class’s PvP toolkit — some abilities are PvP-specific in their use case
- Always check initiative — going first provides massive tactical advantage
- Communicate with teammates if using voice or in-game chat — coordination wins matches
- Punish low-resistance enemies — target the element your opponent resists least
- Don’t burn summons early if playing Osamodas — save your best summon for the second half of a fight
- Watch high-rated streamers — Dofus has an active community; high-level Kolossium play is streamed and recorded
