How Episodes Work
Each episode is a themed content drop containing:
- Open-world missions (daily and weekly)
- A Duo (2-player instance)
- An Alert (4-player instance)
- One or two Raids (8-player instance)
- Associated gear, styles, and feats
Episodes are gated by Combat Rating (CR). You can access any episode your CR qualifies for, but running the latest episode first is almost always the best strategy.
Optimal Level 30 Progression
After hitting level 30, follow this path:
- Latest Episode Content — Start with the newest available episode. Mission rewards give CR-appropriate gear that catches you up faster than any other method.
- Hall of Legends Vendor — Use Source Marks to buy missing gear slots from any episode.
- Older Episodes (for feats) — Once your CR is high enough, breeze through old content for quick feat points.
- Elite Content — At CR 300+, start running elite versions of the latest raids.
Major Episodes — Play These
| Episode | Content Focus | Key Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| World of Flashpoint | Alternate timeline, Flash-centric | Solo-friendly, good starter gear |
| Justice League Dark | Magic-themed, Constantine | Artifact materials |
| Birds of Prey | Gotham City operations | Strong solo content |
| Legion of Doom | Large-scale raids | Best group feats |
| Amazon Fury | Themyscira, Wonder Woman | OP item drops |
| Metal | Dark Multiverse, Batman Who Laughs | Top-tier elite content |
| House of Legends | Hub area for all content | Centralised vendors |
Seasonal Events
DCUO runs seasonal events that are crucial for progression:
- Anniversary Event (January) — Bonus Source Marks, double XP
- Spring Seasonal — Rare catalysts
- Summer Event — OP items, exclusive styles
- Halloween (The Witching Hour) — Best style drops, high-value broker items
- Winter Holiday — XP boosts, free starter gear
Always participate in seasonal events. They are the most time-efficient source of rare materials and catalysts.
Open World Dailies
Each episode has open-world daily and weekly missions. Prioritise:
- Missions that reward Source Marks (primary)
- Missions that reward Catalysts (secondary)
- Missions that reward Nth Metal (tertiary)
Most dailies take 10-20 minutes per episode. Stack episodes in the same zone for efficiency (e.g., do all Gotham missions in one session).
Broker Economy Tips
The Broker is DCUO’s auction house. Key money-making items:
- Rare styles from seasonal events — hold these for 3-6 months after the event for maximum value
- Catalysts — always in demand, sell during non-event periods
- OP item collection pieces — individual pieces sell well, full collections sell for millions
- Base items and decorations — niche market but good margins
Summary
Run the latest episode first for gear. Use Source Marks at the Hall of Legends to fill gaps. Participate in every seasonal event for catalysts. Save all Seals of Completion for artifact breakthroughs above 160.
