BitCraft Friends of the Forest Update Guide: Nubi Goat Taming, Brico’s Wagon, and Cosmetic Overrides
BitCraft’s Friends of the Forest update expands the game’s ranching and cosmetic systems in meaningful ways. Developed by Clockwork Labs, BitCraft is an early access MMORPG built around crafting, settlement building, and resource progression.
Nubi Goat Taming
The headline addition: you can now tame Nubi Goats. These work similarly to Sagi Birds (an existing tameable), functioning as ranched animals that produce resources over time.
What Nubi Goats produce:
- Milk — a food/crafting resource
- Nubi Fur — a crafting material
- Appearances for goat companions (cosmetic variants)
Crafting unlock:
- Raising Nubi Goats gives access to new gloves not available through other routes
How to tame: Taming uses the same approach as Sagi Birds. Find Nubi Goats in the world, tame them with appropriate bait, and place them in a stable or designated ranching area.
Expanded Sagi Bird Functionality
The update also expands what Sagi Birds (existing tameable bird companions) can do. Full details are in the patch notes on the BitCraft official site, but bird raising gets additional depth in this update alongside the goat taming additions.
Brico’s Plan B (New Wagon Quest)
To unlock the new wagon transport vehicle, players must complete a quest called “Brico’s Plan B”. The wagon provides expanded carrying capacity for hauling resources between locations — useful for trade routes and large-scale crafting operations.
Speak to the relevant NPC to trigger the quest chain.
Deployable Appearance Overrides (New Cosmetic System)
Friends of the Forest introduces a deployable appearance override system — BitCraft’s answer to cosmetic transmog for placed objects.
How it works:
- Acquire cosmetic appearance items for deployable objects (crafted objects you place in the world, like workbenches, storage, etc.)
- Store the cosmetic appearances in your vault — they don’t take up hotbar or inventory space
- Apply the appearance to a deployable without altering its stats — a cosmetic-only overlay
This is a significant quality-of-life and aesthetics addition for players who care about how their settlements look. You no longer have to choose between the most functional version of a deployable and the best-looking one.
Balance Changes and Bug Fixes
The patch includes additional balance tweaks and bug fixes. See the full Friends of the Forest patch notes for the complete list.
Background: BitCraft
BitCraft is an early access social crafting MMORPG with a progression loop built around resource tiers, crafting chains, and collaborative settlement building. The game has been in a gradual content expansion phase, adding depth to systems like ranching, transportation, and social tools with each update.
Summary
Friends of the Forest is a solid expansion to BitCraft’s living economy. Nubi Goat taming adds a new animal to manage, Brico’s Plan B introduces wagon transport, and the cosmetic override system gives players creative control over their settlements without sacrificing functionality. If you’ve been away from BitCraft for a while, this is a good patch to return on.
