BDO Sovereign Weapon Enhancement Rates & Crons Guide
The Sovereign Weapon tier has officially arrived in Black Desert Online, sitting one tier above Blackstar weapons. Obtaining one is a massive feat, but enhancing it is an even greater challenge that will test your patience and your silver balance.
This guide breaks down the failstacks (fs) and Cron Stone requirements for pushing your Sovereign weapon.
The Sovereign Weapon System
Unlike previous boss gear, Sovereign weapons use a new material called Origin Stones for durability repair and enhancement attempts.
- Enhance Material: Flawless Origin Stone
- Repair Material: Fragment of Origin (Restores 10 Durability)
Enhancement Rates & Degradation
Warning: Similar to accessories or Blackstar gear at high levels, Sovereign weapons have degradation mechanics.
Base to PRI (+0 -> +1)
- Recommended Failstack: 100fs
- Success Chance: 70%
- Risk: No degradation on failure.
PRI to DUO (+1 -> +2)
This is where the real pain begins.
- Recommended Failstack: 200fs
- Success Chance: 15%
- Risk: Failure without Crons keeps the item at PRI.
DUO to TRI (+2 -> +3)
- Recommended Failstack: 250fs+
- Success Chance: ~5%
- Risk: DEGRADES to PRI on failure if not using Cron Stones.
Cron Stone Costs
Using Cron Stones is practically mandatory for Sovereign weapons to avoid losing billions of silver in progress.
- Cost Per Attempt: 3,500 Cron Stones
- This cost is static for DUO, TRI, TET, and PEN attempts.
Strategy Tips
- Do not raw tap DUO or higher unless you have a backup Sovereign weapon (which you likely don’t).
- Save your highest stacks (300+) for the TET and PEN attempts.
- Pre-order Cron Stones from the blacksmith or central market well in advance; supply dries up instantly during enhancement events.
